Με 5 μετάλλια στις αποσκευές της επέστρεψε  την Τρίτη 6 Μαΐου η αποστολή του Γυμνασίου Λεονταρίου που επιλέχθηκε να εκπροσωπήσει το Ν Καρδίτσας και το Δήμο Σοφάδων στη ΙΑ Πανελλήνια Μαθητιάδα της Πρώτης Σερρών. 
 Οι δώδεκα μαθητές του σχολείου μας διαγωνίσθηκαν σε πλήθος Ολυμπιακών αθλημάτων απέναντι σε μαθητές γυμνασίων από όλη την Ελλάδα καθώς και Ελληνικών σχολείων από όλο τον κόσμο που φιλοξενούνταν στις κατασκηνώσεις Οφρυνίου Καβάλας  
 Εκτός από τη συμμετοχή στα Ολυμπιακά αγωνίσματα, τα παιδιά του σχολείου μας κέρδισαν τις εντυπώσεις με το εκθετήριο τοπικών προϊόντων που στήθηκε στα πλαίσια της διοργάνωσης "Γωνιές της Ελλάδας" και όπου διαφημίστηκαν τα προϊόντα του Νομού και του Δήμου στους επισκέπτες της Β Ελλάδας .
Αίσθηση επίσης προκάλεσε η πληθώρα έντυπου και ενημερωτικού υλικού τόσο του Δ. Σοφάδων όσο και της Π.Ε. Καρδίτσας.  
Το σχολείο ευχαριστεί τον Δήμο Σοφάδων και τον Εμπορικό Σύλλογο Σοφάδων για την πολύτιμη συμπαράστασή τους.
