Με την ασφαλτόστρωση και του τελευταίου τμήματος του κεντρικού δρόμου του οικισμού Μαύρικα μέχρι και τη διασταύρωσή του με τον δρόμο Καρδίτσα – Μέλισσα  ολοκληρώθηκε το έργο κατασκευής βασικών δικτύων του οικισμού.
            Τις εργασίες της ασφαλτόστρωσης επέβλεψε ο Αντιδήμαρχος Τεχνικών Υπηρεσιών κ. Απ. Καπράνας μαζί με υπηρεσιακά στελέχη του Δήμου.
            Στα πλαίσια του έργου έγινε πλήρης κατασκευή (εκσκαφές, αμμοχαλικόστρωση, βάση 3Α, ασφαλτόστρωση και κρασπεδόρειθρα) του κεντρικού δρόμου, καθώς και δημοτικών δρόμων συνολικού μήκους  1,5 χλμ περίπου, ενώ  έγινε και η επέκταση του δικτύου ηλεκτροφωτισμού της ΔΕΗ.
            Το έργο χρηματοδοτήθηκε από το Πρόγραμμα Ε.Π. ΘΕΣΣΑΛΙΑΣ - ΣΤΕΡΕΑΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΑΣ - ΗΠΕΙΡΟΥ 2007 – 2013 και η  προθεσμία ολοκλήρωσής του που προέβλεπε η σύμβαση που υπογράφηκε με τον ανάδοχο τον Ιούλιο του 2013, ήταν 24 μήνες.
