Σήμερα (19-08-2013) και ώρα 10:50 μέσα σε σιτοκαλλιέργεια  σε αγροτική περιοχή των Σοφάδων Καρδίτσας, εποχούμενοι άνδρες της Αστυνομικής Διεύθυνσης Καρδίτσας εντόπισαν τραυματισμένο θανάσιμα 44χρονο ημεδαπό, ο οποίος έφερε εξοπλισμό ανεμοπτέρου (τύπου παρά πέντε).
 
Τις έρευνες των  αστυνομικών δυνάμεων υποβοήθησαν ένα (1) ελικόπτερο του Στρατού και ένα (1) μονοκινητήριο αεροπλάνο της Αερολέσχης Βόλου.
 
Προανάκριση για τα αίτια και τις συνθήκες της πτώσης του ανεμοπτέρου διενεργεί το Αστυνομικό Τμήμα Σοφάδων της Αστυνομικής Διεύθυνσης Καρδίτσας.
