Μετά την αποχώρηση του Βαγγέλη Τρουβά από την ενεργό δράση, ήταν επιτακτική ανάγκη για την ομάδα του Ατρομήτου η εξεύρεση ικανού αντικαταστάτη.

Μετά από συντονισμένες προσπάθειες της διοίκησης έγινε το καλύτερο και στην ομάδα από την νέα σεζόν θα αγωνίζεται ένας παίκτης με μεγάλη ποδοσφαιρική προσωπικότητα και ένας από τους καλύτερους επιτελικούς μέσους της Καρδίτσας, ο Σπύρος Γκόβαρης.

Ο Γκόβαρης ξεκίνησε την καριέρα του από τον Ενιπέα Ιτέας, ομάδα του χωριού του, από την οποία πήρε μεταγραφή στην Αναγέννηση Καρδίτσας με την οποία αγωνίστηκε για έξι συνεχόμενα χρόνια και ήταν αναπόσπαστο μέλος της ομάδας όταν ήταν ΠΑΕ. Τις δύο τελευταίες σεζόν αγωνίστηκε με την ομάδα της Α.Ε. Πασχαλίτσας και ήταν από τους πρωτεργάτες της μεγάλης πορείας της τοπικής ομάδας. Με την προσθήκη αυτή η ομάδα του Ατρομήτου γίνεται πρωταθλήτρια στις μεταγραφές και μένει τώρα να αποδείξει ότι μπορεί να είναι και πρωταθλήτρια στη νέα αγωνιστική χρονιά
