Τον επόμενο χρόνο θα λανσαριστεί στην Ευρώπη η ολοκαίνουρια Χ4, όπως ανακοίνωσε και επίσημα ο πρόεδρος της BMW, Norbert Reithofer. Το μοντέλο ανήκει στην κατηγορία των μεσαίων SAV ( Sport Activity Vehicle) και θα τοποθετηθεί πάνω από την Χ3. 

 
 


 

Σύμφωνα με τον πρόεδρο του γερμανικού ομίλου, το νέο coupe αυτοκίνητο της σειράς Χ στοχεύει σε ένα διαφορετικό πελατειακό κοινό σε σχέση με τις X3 και Χ6. Το μήκος είναι στα επίπεδα της X3 και φέρει τα ίδια μηχανικά σύνολα, με το σχεδιασμό να ακολουθεί το ίδιο coupe προσανατολισμό με την X6. 

Η παγκόσμια πρεμιέρα της X4 θα γίνει στο Ντιτρόιτ τον Ιανουάριο του 2014 και η παραγωγή στο εργοστάσιο Spartanburg στη Νότια Καρολίνα, εκεί όπου κατασκευάζονται και τα X3, X5 και X6.
