Η λύση στο κυπριακό θα βρεθεί μέσω μικρών βημάτων και υπομονής, υπογράμμισε ο πρόεδρος του Ευρωπαϊκού Κοινοβουλίου, Μάρτιν Σουλτς, μιλώντας σε συνέδριο με θέμα 
«Ο Νότος για την Ανάπτυξη», που οργάνωσαν στην Αθήνα τα Γραφεία του ευρωκοινοβούλιου στη Νότιο Ευρώπη.

Απαντώντας σε σχετική ερώτηση, τάχθηκε υπέρ της επανέναναρξης των διαπραγματεύσεων, το ταχύτερο δυνατό και κάλεσε την τουρκική πλευρά να πάρει σαφή και εποικοδομητική θέση.

Το ενεργειακό ζήτημα, τόνισε ο κ.Σουλτς, απαντώντας σε άλλη ερώτηση, παίζει έναν πολύ σημαντικό ρόλο στην ανάπτυξη της Κύπρου, ενώ τα επόμενα είκοσι με τριάντα χρόνια η Ελλάδα και η Κύπρος έχουν σοβαρή πιθανότητα να γίνουν πάροχοι ενέργειας.
