Τη συγκρότηση κοινού μετώπου για μία μεσογειακή διάσταση της Ευρώπης, συζήτησε με την ελληνική πολιτική ηγεσία η πρόεδρος της ιταλικής Βουλής Λάουρα Μπολντρίνι κατά τη διήμερη επίσκεψή της στην Αθήνα, βρίσκοντας ευρεία ανταπόκριση. Βασικό βήμα, όπως εξήγησε σε αποκλειστική συνέντευξή της στη Web TV του ΑΠΕ-ΜΠΕ, η διοργάνωση στη Ρώμη κατά το εξάμηνο της ελληνικής προεδρίας μιας κοινής πρωτοβουλίας για την προώθηση της κοινωνικής Ευρώπης. 

Που δεν θα βλέπει μόνο το οικονομικό σπρεντ αλλά και το δημοκρατικό σπρεντ, διότι, όπως επισήμανε, με την αύξηση της ακροδεξιάς έχουμε και μία δημοκρατική απειλή.
