Τα τρόφιμα παραλαμβάνουν δικαιούχοι των Τοπικών Κοινοτήτων Απιδιάς, Μολόχας, Δαφνοσπηλιάς, Αμπελικού, Ραχούλας, Καστανιάς, Καροπλεσίου, Καταφυγίου, Αμαράντου, Νεράϊδας – Σαραντάπορου, Αγίου Γεωργίου και Πορτίτσας, οι οποίες χαρακτηρίζονται ορεινές και μειονεκτικές.

Οι σχετικές αιτήσεις είχαν κατατεθεί τον Μάρτιο του 2012, στο πλαίσιο υλοποίησης του προγράμματος δωρεάν διανομής τροφίμων από τα κοινοτικά αποθέματα παρέμβασης, σύμφωνα με την υπ’ αριθμ.:22830/2011 απόφαση των υπουργών Εσωτερικών και Αγροτικής Ανάπτυξης και Τροφίμων (ΦΕΚ660/20-4-2011).
