Σήμερα (19-09-2016) το πρωί στην Επ.Ο. Καρδίτσας – Λουτρών Λίμνης Σμοκόβου, Ι.Χ. φορτηγό αυτοκίνητο που οδηγούσε 74χρονος ημεδαπός συγκρούστηκε με μηχάνημα έργων (εκσκαφέα) που οδηγούσε 34χρονος, με αποτέλεσμα το θανάσιμο τραυματισμό της συνοδηγού του φορτηγού αυτοκινήτου, 82χρονης ημεδαπής.
 
Προανάκριση για τα αίτια και τις συνθήκες του ατυχήματος διενεργεί το Τμήμα Τροχαίας Καρδίτσας.
