Οι παίκτες του Νίκου Παπανικολόπουλου μετά το πρώτο 4λεπτο (8-6) είδαν τους Τούρκους να «τρέχουν» ένα εντυπωσιακό σερί 20-0 σε 5 λεπτά και να προηγούνται με 8-26 (στο 9’). Ουσιαστικά, εκεί κρίθηκαν όλα, καθώς δεν μπόρεσε ποτέ να επιστρέψει η ελληνική ομάδα στη διεκδίκηση της νίκης.

Ο Ντάμιεν Τζέφερσον με 20 πόντους, 8 ριμπάουντ και 3 ασίστ ήταν εκείνος που ξεχώρισε, ενώ ο Νόα Χόρχλερ είχε 13 πόντους και 6 ριμπάουντ. Από την Τουρκική ομάδα μεγάλος πρωταγωνιστής ήταν ο Τζακ Γουάιτ με 21 πόντους και 10 ριμπάουντ, ενώ ακολούθησαν σε απόδοση ο Κάρταλ Όζμιρζακ με 17 πόντους και ο Γκάμπριελ Ολασένι με 14 πόντους και 14 ριμπάουντ.
