Εκτυπώσιμη μορφήΜετά τη Λακωνία, διαπιστώθηκαν κρούσματα καταρροϊκού πυρετού και στην Αρκαδία. Στις Κολλίνες του δήμου Τρίπολης και στον Πραστό του δήμου Βόρειας Κυνουρίας επιβεβαιώθηκαν δύο κρούσματα καταρροϊκού πυρετού.
Ο καταρροϊκός πυρετός - όπως επισημαίνει η Κτηνιατρική υπηρεσία - είναι σοβαρότατο νόσημα που εμφανίζεται για πρώτη φορά στην Πελοπόννησο και οφείλεται σε ιό που μεταδίδεται στα ζώα αποκλειστικά από ένα είδος μικρού εντόμου, που ζει στα σκοτεινά και υγρά σημεία του στάβλου και μολύνει πρόβατα, αίγες, βοοειδή και άγρια μηρυκαστικά, αλλά συνήθως το νόσημα εκδηλώνεται μόνο στα πρόβατα.
Υπογραμμίζεται ότι, το νόσημα αυτό δεν προσβάλλει τον άνθρωπο, αλλά έχει μεγάλη σημασία για την κτηνοτροφία.
