Σχέδιο αναδιοργάνωσης και σημαντικής ενίσχυσης των Κέντρων Εξυπηρέτησης Πολιτών εκπονεί το υπουργείο Διοικητικής Μεταρρύθμισης με στόχο να περιοριστούν, στο μέτρο του δυνατού, οι επαφές του πολίτη με το κράτος.
 
Ο υπουργός Διοικητικής Μεταρρύθμισης Κυριάκος Μητσοτάκης ενημέρωσε σήμερα τη Βουλή ότι «στο υπουργείο έχει δρομολογηθεί ένας ουσιαστικός σχεδιασμός αναδιοργάνωσης και ενίσχυσης των ΚΕΠ, έτσι ώστε να μπορέσουν να επιτελέσουν πραγματικά και ουσιαστικά τον ρόλο για τον οποίο σχεδιάστηκαν. Το σχέδιο αυτό θα προχωρήσει σε συνδυασμό με τη διαδικασία απλοποίησης διαδικασιών που μέχρι σήμερα είχε εφεύρει το γραφειοκρατικό κράτος ταλαιπωρώντας τους πολίτες». Ο κ. Μητσοτάκης ανέφερε ακόμη ότι συμμετοχή στη λύση του προβλήματος θα έχει η ενίσχυση των ψηφιακών υπηρεσιών μέσα από την πύλη του Ερμή και η ενίσχυση των αρμοδιοτήτων των ΚΕΠ, ώστε οι διοικητικές πράξεις να διεξάγονται μέσα από αυτά.
