Η κυβέρνηση της Αριστεράς με την άνοδο της στην εξουσία το Γενάρη του 2015, βρέθηκε αντιμέτωπη με τη συντελεσθείσα καταστροφή στον τόπο μας τα προηγούμενα 5 χρόνια εφαρμογής των μνημονίων.

Πρώτη προτεραιότητα της κυβέρνησης του ΣΥΡΙΖΑ ήταν η αντιμετώπιση της ανθρωπιστική κρίσης. Δεν είναι τυχαίο ότι ο πρώτος νόμος που έφερε προς ψήφιση η κυβέρνηση στο κοινοβούλιο  παρά τις αδικαιολόγητες και αναιτιολόγητες αντιδράσεις από την πλευρά των θεσμών, αφορούσε την αντιμετώπιση της ανθρωπιστικής κρίσης και της ακραίας φτώχιας.

Σε μια δεύτερη φάση η κυβέρνηση προχωρά στη σχεδίαση του νέου Εθνικού συστήματος Κοινωνικής αλληλεγγύης, την επέκταση του θεσμού του ελάχιστου Εγγυημένου εισοδήματος, την ενίσχυση και επέκταση του προγράμματος Σχολικών Γευμάτων.

Στα πλαίσια υλοποίησης του Επιχειρησιακού  Προγράμματος Επισιτιστικής και Βασικής Υλικής Συνδρομής (ΤΕΒΑ), γίνεται και η διανομή κοτόπουλου στους Δήμους της περιφερειακής ενότητας Καρδίτσας, ενώ θα ακολουθήσει διανομή και άλλων τροφίμων (νωπά κρέατα, φρούτα, λαχανικά) στους δικαιούχους το προσεχές διάστημα.
