Την εφαρμογή προγράμματος Κοινωνικού Τουρισμού για 100.000 δικαιούχους, ανακοίνωσε ο υπουργός Εργασίας, Κοινωνικής Ασφάλισης και Πρόνοιας Γιάννης Βρούτσης, στο πλαίσιο της σημερινής παρουσίας του στο Διοικητικό Συμβούλιο του Ξενοδοχειακού Επιμελητηρίου Ελλάδας (ΞΕΕ).

Σύμφωνα δε με ανακοίνωση του ΞΕΕ, η υλοποίηση του προγράμματος, δαπάνης 10 εκατ. ευρώ, θα πραγματοποιηθεί από τον Νέο ΟΑΕΔ και η αρχή του θα είναι η 1η Σεπτεμβρίου 2013, με στόχο τη μερική επιμήκυνση της τουριστικής περιόδου. Παράλληλα, ο υπουργός αναφέρθηκε και στο πρόγραμμα του ΟΓΑ για 120.000 δικαιούχους, ύψους 27 εκατ. ευρώ, που «τρέχει» ήδη.

Ο πρόεδρος του ΞΕΕ Γιώργος Τσακίρης χαιρέτησε την απόφαση του κ. Βρούτση, σημειώνοντας ότι η επανέναρξη του προγράμματος Κοινωνικού Τουρισμού, έστω και σε τόσο μικρή έκταση, υποδηλώνει τη σταδιακή ανάκαμψη της ελληνικής οικονομίας, και τόνισε ότι ο Κοινωνικός Τουρισμός ως θεσμός, ειδικά σήμερα, προσιδιάζει με σανίδα σωτηρίας για τον χειμαζόμενο ελληνικό λαό.
