Ο Σεβασμιώτατος Μητροπολίτης μας κ. Τιμόθεος, την Δευτέρα 23 Απριλίου 2018, εορτή του αγίου και ενδόξου μεγαλομάρτυρος Γεωργίου του τροπαιοφόρου χοροστάτησε στην ακολουθία του Όρθρου τέλεσε την θεία Λειτουργία στον Ιερό Ναό Αγίου Γεωργίου Καρδίτσης.

Τον θείο λόγο κήρυξε ο Πανοσιολογιώτατος Αρχιμανδρίτης π. Σεραφείμ Λινοσπόρης, Ιεροκήρυξ της Ιεράς Μητροπόλεως Κερκύρας, Παξών και Διαποντίων Νήσων αναφερόμενος στη βιωτή του Αγίου Γεωργίου, τονίζοντας πως οφείλουμε εμείς οι χριστιανοί να έχουμε πρότυπα στη ζωή μας τους Αγίους μας.

Ακολούθως, προέστη της επισήμου Δοξολογίας και του ιερού μνημοσύνου υπέρ αναπαύσεως της ψυχής του κεκοιμημένου οπλαρχηγού της Ελληνικής Επαναστάσεως Γεωργίου Καραϊσκάκη στον Ιερό Ναό Αγίου Νικολάου Δ.Δ. Μαυρομματίου και της ιεράς Λιτανείας της εικόνος του Αγίου Γεωργίου του τροπαιοφόρου μέχρι την κεντρική πλατεία του Δ.Δ. Μαυρομματίου, όπου και τέλεσε επιμνημόσυνη δέηση ενώπιον του έφιππου ανδριάντα του οπλαρχηγού της Ελληνικής Επαναστάσεως Γεωργίου Καραϊσκάκη.

Ο Σεβασμιώτατος στο σύντομο χαιρετισμό του προέτρεψε όλους να μην λησμονούμε τους προγόνους μας και να τους μιμούμαστε στην πορεία της ζωής μας.
